First Contact Practitioner – Managing Clinical Uncertainty

  • This event has passed.

28th July 2023 @ 9:30 am - 12:30 pm

Patients are getting more and more complicated, and it seems things are rarely straightforward these days. This interactive workshop will explore some of the strategies we can use as clinicians to help create certainty out of an increasingly complex world!

If you answer YES to any of the below then this workshop will help you feel more comfortable managing uncertainty:

* do you ever feel overwhelmed when things are not clear cut with patients?

* do you worry about over or under investigating patients – and how do you know if you got it right?

* do you worry that blood results can be difficult to interpret?

* does it feel like more patients are being medicalised and given labels/medicines than ever before?

Led by Dr Andy Eaton, this workshop will also make links to overdiagnosis and how we as clinicians can gauge how to pitch it at the right level and reduce that fear of being criticised for over or under treating someone.
