Event:
First Contact Practitioners: A Guide to the Interpretation of Blood Results in MSK Cases
- This event has passed.
31st January @ 1:30 pm - 4:30 pm
Do you wonder what on earth all the various blood results mean?
Are you worried in case a result means something serious might be going on and you might miss it?
Feedback from colleagues tells us that you are not alone. There is guidance for different professionals about our responsibilities when it comes to requesting and interpreting/filing blood results. All practitioners should clearly work within their own scope of practice, but we hope the following workshop may be just what you need to start feeling more comfortable with what the various results mean for patient care.
In this session we will aim to
* increase your confidence in the interpretation of the common blood results
* develop strategies to distinguish between what is normal, acceptable and abnormal for a particular patient
* increase your confidence in identifying when an abnormal result might indicate that a greater degree of urgency is needed
* benchmark our management of abnormal results against our peers to reassure us that we are on the right track
