Cardiovascular Disease Prevention  

 Aim: To discuss the roles and contributions of primary care clinicians in the Cardiovascular Disease Prevention. The session will focus on the epidemiology and risk factors associate with cardiovascular diseases, the importance of early detection and management of cardiovascular diseases and the high impact interventions in cardiovascular disease prevention. 

 This Workshop will be led by Sammer Tang, Specialist Registrar in Public Health, Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust/Office for Health Improvement and Disparities.

Sammer is a HCPC-registered Paramedic, NMC-registered Nurse (Adult), Independent Prescriber and Public Health Lead for the College of Paramedics. Following 15 years in various clinical and managerial roles in the NHS and Civil Service in England, Sammer joined the South West Public Health Training Programme in 2019 and Sammer is currently a Specialist Registrar in Public Health (ST4) with the Office of Health Improvement and Disparities (South East). Additionally, Sammer is practising clinically as an Advanced Paramedic Practitioner in the Welsh Ambulance Service NHS Trust.
