Primary Care Workforce:

First Contact Practitioners

A First Contact Practitioner (FCP) is a diagnostic clinician working in Primary Care at the top of their clinical scope of practice at masters level. FCPs are able to assess and manage undifferentiated and undiagnosed presentations. FCPs consist of Paramedics, Physiotherapists, Podiatrists, Dieticians, Occupational Therapists and achieve recognition through Health Education England, after completing either a taught or portfolio route.
